The tiles were delivered promptly as promised. The color was great for the room, neutral but still cheerful. They were very easy to install, but had to be handled very carefully because the glue was very strong, so once placed on the wall they were not coming off. The accoustic dampening value was fair, not quite as good as hoped, but we did not do all the walls either.
These smaller panels are easy to install and look so nice, especially compared to most others. They don’t absorb sound as seriously as thick soft foam eggcrate ones though. They are made of rigid foam core board like what’s used for school projects, but a bit thicker, so super light weight. They have beveled edges, which looks great. They are covered in a soft, grayish white felt. Because they are fabric-covered and bevel-edged, trimming them to fit around edges is not ideal, so plan layout to avoid that as much as possible. I would try to trim the foam while keeping the felt so can re-wrap the trimmed edges. I didn’t want to wait 30 days for primer to cure, so I installed them on raw drywall, but only cut off small corners of the backing paper in case I want to remove the panels someday. It can be tricky to peel the backing off without also grabbing the adhesive layer, but that’s typical of peel and stick. I currently have one pack which doesn’t even fully cover a small wall, so I’ll need more 12-packs to achieve full coverage to minimize the sound of my furnace from penetrating into the next room so much. I didn’t notice a difference with just one pack. These are so attractive that you can use them in bedrooms and living spaces. I’d just set expectations that they can dampen echoes and reduce, but probably not fully block, through-wall/ceiling strong noise transfer.
